Your quick guide to common questions
Wonder & Wild was created by Cass, a qualified Primary School Teacher with over 10 years’ experience in some of Australia’s leading schools.
With deep curriculum expertise and a passion for authentic education, Cass built Wonder & Wild after having her own children and wanting an approach that blended strong academics with hands-on, heart-filled learning.
“Every lesson is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence - because learning should be joyful, meaningful, and real.” – Cass
Yes! While the content follows the Australian Curriculum, families around the world love its hands-on, nature-rich, and family-f riendly approach. A few references (like measurement systems or Australian geography) may differ, but the overall learning philosophy and outcomes are universally strong.
Wonder & Wild combines the structure of schooling with the freedom of unschooling - the best of both worlds.
Traditional unschooling often follows a child’s interests but can lack clear academic direction. Traditional schooling ensures coverage but can feel rigid and joyless.
Wonder & Wild bridges that gap beautifully. Our structured, academically rich lessons take around 1.5–2 hours a day - most families complete everything between 8am and 9:30/10am. That means the rest of the day is open for play, creativity, nature, hobbies, and life learning - the things children were made for.
We want kids who can climb trees, build cubbies, bake muffins, and explore tide pools - but who can also write, reason, discuss, and understand the world deeply. Because freedom without foundation leads to confusion - and structure without freedom leads to burnout. Wonder & Wild gives families both: freedom with confidence.
Cass has taught multiple grades across her career and worked on exciting educational projects that shaped how children learn best. She designed Wonder & Wild to reflect that expertise - blending professional insight with real homeschool experience.
The result? A generation of confident, capable, and curious children who grow up loving learning - not resenting it.
Because in education, details matter - and at Wonder & Wild, nothing is random. Some concepts appear early in the program to prepare children for more complex skills later. This is known as a spiral curriculum - children revisit important ideas at deeper levels each year so nothing gets forgotten or left behind.
For example, a Foundation lesson about describing weather helps build vocabulary for later science and creative writing units in Year 2 and Year 3.
Every activity has a purpose. Every lesson fits into a bigger picture. This intentional design means children’s learning feels connected and natural - like pieces of a puzzle fitting perfectly together.

This isn’t just “school at home.” It’s education reimagined for real families - grounded, joyful, and purpose-filled.
Wonder & Wild was born from a dream to make homeschooling simple, rich, and connected - a program that makes learning joyful again for both children and parents. After years of teaching in schools and working on innovative educational projects, Cass saw firsthand how children learn best: through hands-on discovery, routine, curiosity, and creativity.
She wanted to bring that balance to families - a way to meet all curriculum requirements without losing the magic of childhood.
That’s why we called it Wonder & Wild.
Wonder represents curiosity, imagination, and awe - the spark that drives all great learning.
Wild represents freedom, play, nature, and real life beyond the walls of a classroom. Together, these two words perfectly capture what this program stands for: structured learning done the natural way - rich, free, connected, and deeply meaningful.
Every lesson has been created by real teachers and tested with real families.
Parents can feel confident, supported, and inspired - knowing their children are learning everything they need and loving every moment of it.
