Based by the beach in New South Wales, Australia, I’m a former teacher turned homeschool program creator with very big dreams.
I created Wonder & WILD when I could not find the homeschool program I wanted… and honestly, needed. I wanted something rich, clear, hands-on and beautiful, but still strong enough to prepare children for the big, bold lives ahead of them.
Very into: apple crumble, date nights with my husband, sleep-ins that almost never happen, camping and 4WD adventures, Jesus, and being cuddled up on the couch with my kids. Chatterbox since 1990.
SO HOW DID I END UP HERE?
Over a decade ago, you would have found me teaching at an incredible school in Sydney. I was fully immersed in education, refining programs, trialling ideas, studying how children learn best and working inside strong teaching frameworks. From the outside, I looked like I was thriving. Quietly, I was also walking through years of infertility, using my work as an anchor through heartbreak I did not yet have language for.
Teaching became a place where I poured so much of myself. I studied what truly helped children learn. I watched what worked in real classrooms, what actually helped children think, and what simply looked good on paper.
Then, after a long wait, our miracle arrived. And everything changed. Motherhood did not make me care less about education. It made me care more. Suddenly, learning was not just something I planned for a classroom. It was sitting in front of me at my own kitchen table, wrapped up in the child I loved most in the world. I no longer wanted children to simply get through lessons. I wanted them to think, question, create, wonder, build strong foundations and grow into the big, bold lives ahead of them.
When I went looking for a homeschool program that was academically strong, hands-on, low-screen, beautiful, flexible and complete enough to cover what children genuinely need, I could not find it.
So I built it.
Today, Wonder & Wild exists to give families what I could not find back then: a homeschool program that is rich, thoughtful, practical and deeply human. A program that helps parents feel supported, gives children strong foundations, and leaves room for childhood to still feel like childhood.
IN RETROSPECT...
I probably should’ve known the girl who grew up on a boys’ boarding school campus - covered in dirt, jumping bikes at five, playing noughts and crosses on cow pats, breaking bones, and somehow ending up with a new nose before most kids lost their baby teeth - would one day create a program that fiercely protects childhood.
I didn’t grow up sitting still. I grew up curious, independent, and outside.
All I want now is for my own children - and yours - to have the same freedom to be kids, while still building strong, capable minds.
FUN Facts
NUMBER One
I had a nose job at five, thanks to a bike race down my aunty’s very steep driveway that ended with a drain grate, a face plant and my family’s car exhaust pipe. Childhood was… spirited.
NUMBER Two
I’m gluten and dairy free (not by choice), but I will absolutely make an exception for a Caramilk ice cream.
NUMBER Three
I can sing and dance - properly - though these days it mostly happens in the kitchen or when no one’s watching.
NUMBER Four
I’m a legit hiker. Not “cute trail with a coffee after” hiking. Think Overland Track in Tasmania kind of hiking.
NUMBER Five
I cannot drive manual. I’ve been taught by my parents and my husband. Multiple times. Still a no.
NUMBER Six
I’ve also studied interior design, and will happily rearrange a room (or critique a renovation show) without being asked.
NUMBER Seven
I got my real estate licence straight after school purely because I love property. Floor plans bring me an unreasonable amount of joy.
NUMBER Eight
I’m deeply loyal, wildly curious, and have never been very good at doing things halfway.
NUMBER Nine
I’m equal parts organised and spontaneous - which somehow works most of the time.
